SYSPOINT VIRTUAL COMPILER™ “SVC”
SYSPOINT Virtual Compiler™ provides a minimum 30%- 50% savings over your existing compiler costs. Calculate your savings using the savings calculator.
- With the SVCs, there is no migration from your existing compilers, we simply reduce redundancies in your environment. Therefore, you maintain your current functionality, as you continue to use your current solutions, just at a significant cost savings.
- Actual implementation takes 1-2 days. The SVC is transparent to programmers, so there is no training required and no interruption to existing service.
- Compiler contracts are typically paid monthly, so given the ease of implementation of our solution, you will recognize cost savings within 30 days of implementation.
- In addition to the guaranteed cost savings, our solutions also provide improved system controls in your environment.
The Syspoint™ Virtual Compiler™ (SVC) is a family of virtual compiler licensed programs for the IBM OS/390 and z/OS operating environments. A virtual compiler is a program that functions equivalently to an actual compiler but does not require that the actual compiler be installed or licensed on the machine on which it runs. The SVC utilizes FTP (the File Transfer Protocol client of the IBM OS/390 or z/OS SecureWay Communications Server) to transmit the user’s source code to another mainframe (on which the actual compiler is installed), compile it there, and return the output of the actual compiler (system messages, listing, object code, etc.) to the user’s specified target datasets.
